Property Description

In the center of Thompson Springs ghost town! Quiet and peaceful. This is not for the person who loves rush hour in the big city! There is a Shell station in town and that's it! Bring groceries with you when you come. Moab and Arches National park is about a half hour drive to the south. This place is really all about freedom. If you decide to ride an ATV through Town, nobody bothers you. If you decide to ride your bicycle down old hwy 6 you might pass a car, but chances are you won't.

Exactly what I was looking for!

I was traveling back and forth from Arches and Canyonlands. This was a nice spot to stay that’s not in the congestion of Moab.

Experience the areas outside the National Parks

Do chat with Dave and let him know what you would like experience in this unique part of the country. He did an outstanding job at pointing us towards some places to explore that were off the beaten path. The drive up to the end of the Sego canyon was spectacular.

The folks in the RV park with their ORVs were incredibly considerate.

The views from the dining table and the porch chairs were great.

There is much dust and sand in the area, but the cabin was set up in such a way that it was easy to keep the dirt and sand outside.

Great Spot to Stay if Riding ATV Trails in Area!

This place is a one-bedroom park model. Very clean. No TV. It was great to have a spot where 6 of us could get together & play games.

We were here for an ATV Club ride. Unfortunately, only one night was available, so if coming with a group, book long in advance. Dave only has a few places, & his cabins & one 5th wheel stay full. There are plenty of spaces in the RV park to bring your own RV.

Dave made a big effort to accommodate our group, including setting up tables for us to make 3 big meals together.

Note: the riding in the area is really great, definitely world class.

Just what we needed

This cute tiny cabin styled vrbo was the best. Located as part of an RV park it was quiet, homey, and enough room for two adults and a dog. We felt safe about leaving Rusty there alone when we skydiving at Skydive Moab which is wonderful. We could have never left him at a motel room. A distance from Moab, but right next to Sego and Thompson Canyons where we explored petroglyphs, pictographs, and a ghost town.

Great value, good location, comfortable stay

This was our first experience with VRBO, and we were very happy. Great to have our own place, very comfortable. Allowed us to make our own meals, come and go at our convenience, and have privacy. We were able to get in a bit early, which was so appreciated. Very friendly people.

We truly enjoyed our stay at the Gecko House in Thompson

The house was clean spacious and quiet. We would recommend staying at the Gecko House in Thompson. The drive to Moab was easy and scenic.

We went to Moab each day for an adventure, but found it noisy, busy and congested.

We especially liked hearing the trains go thru town in Thompson.

Clean, Great for a Weekend Stay

We came out for a weekend getaway with the kids and had a great time exploring the canyon here and going down to Moab for the day. It’s a great set up for a game night or family time. No complaints at all.

Enjoyed my stay

Was there in early March when it was cold outside at night. Cozy, warm rental that lived up to its description. Great water pressure and water was very hot. Served as a perfect base camp for me to visit the surrounding National Parks. As mentioned in other reviews, nearby freight train can be loud but I knew this going in. Very private rental.

Cozy and clean cabin. Had everything we needed

Great experience and hospitality. We accidentally locked ourselves out on Thanksgiving and were able to get ahold of Dave and get let in. Will definitely be back, can’t beat the price and amenities.

Cute clean little mobile home

Serenely quiet except for the occasional train and since I love trains that was great. Grounds were a bit stark but there are young trees planted and all was well maintained. Manager was excellent at making us feel welcome and how the process worked with both email and text.
